About Me – Joi!

Oh my… it’s all about me??? I would rather it wasn’t but… here we go.

I am a wife of 44 years. I met hubby in college and he is forever my true love.  He has a Ph.D and I have a Master’s Degree. We are retired and living on the ranch now.  We have four grandchildren that are the delight of our lives!

I love to sing and play the piano. In my younger years, I was a soloist for ‘Up With People’ and loved acting in community theaters.  I find great joy in being part of the praise team at our church.  I am a published writer of poetry and magazine articles. I consider myself an encourager to others. And of course, I love to paint and be creative!

Here, at the ranch, is where you will find me painting.  I will include a link below where you can see a short pictorial view of the ranch with it’s 1850’s dog trot house, cottages and conference center where we hold retreats.

I am very honored to have a huge painting on canvas at Baylor University!

You can see the Baylor folks below – hanging the painting for us on arrival day!

My dear hubby helped and made the gorgeous frame from dead cedar trees at the ranch.

I am a mixed media artist painting on paper, wood and canvas. I love to do paintings for charity benefits.  It’s wonderful to think that my art can brighten someone’s life.

I am also very proud to be on the International Design Team for DecoArt Media.

Thanks bunches for stopping by to learn a bit about me.

I am so thankful for all of you – my inspirations and encouragers! Xj.
